A Review of the Dyson DC07
Vacuums are an everyday part of life for many people, but very few know how to
properly choose the right unit. Since I enjoy doing research and writing product reviews, I decided to go in
search of vacuums and find out a little more about them. Having always believed that price was the deciding
factor, I was in for a bit of a surprise.
When it comes to choosing a vacuum for your home, there are many things you should consider aside from price.
You want to know that the job is being done right. Picking the best machine is the way to ensure that happens. As I
did some research I came across the Dyson DC07 and decided to learn a little more about what this vacuum had to offer.
What Makes a Good Vacuum Experience?
Since I now know that a good vacuum is more than a low price tag, it was time to learn about what makes up a
good machine. There are several factors that combine together to ensure that you are getting the best experience
for your money.
• Suction power
• Bagless or Bagged?
• HEPA Filter?
• Weight of the machine
• Included attachments
• Length of the cord
Knowing what features I needed to look at in a vacuum was only half of the battle. Now I had to see how the
Dyson DC07 measured up.
Suction Power
When you get down to the bare bones of vacuuming, everything will come down to the suction power. How much
suction you need is variable based on a lot of factors. Obviously, the more you have the more it will pick up from
your floors. Those with children and pets tend to want as much suction as possible. Those who vacuum lightly can do
with less. Dyson measure their suction power in units called air watts.
The Dyson DC07 is one of the most powerful models they have available with 270 air watts of constant suction
power. This model also includes the Root8Cyclone technology that helps prevent clogging while you vacuum. This
means that it holds that continuous, powerful suction throughout the entire time you are using it. Like many Dyson
models, this one is made to work on all floor types as well.
Bagless or Bagged?
Vacuums can either be bagless or they can use bags. If they use bags then you have the added hassle and expense
of replacing the bags frequently. Bagless vacuums are becoming more common and more popular. The Dyson DC07 is
bagless like other Dyson models. This saves you the cost of replacement bags. The canister is simple to empty with
a simple trigger release that dumps the contents into the garbage. It also has one of the largest canisters with a
one gallon capacity.
HEPA Filter?
Many top vacuums are utilizing HEPA filters now in an effort to be friendlier to those who suffer from asthma
and allergies. These filters help to trap dust, pollen and allergens and prevent them from being released into the
air when vacuuming. Not only does the Dyson DC07 have a filter, it has a lifetime HEPA filter that will not need to
be replaced. This saves you the cost of replacement filters and leaves you only with the task of keeping it clean.
Because of the HEPA filter, the Dyson is certified as a friendly vacuum for those with asthma.
Weight of the Machine?
The Dyson DC07 is a powerful machine and like most powerful machines it is going to weigh a little more. At a
little over 19 lbs it would be a bit heavy if you had to consistently carry it up and down stairs. However, for
maneuvering around rooms the back and forth weight created is only 4lbs so that makes it much easier on you to
use.
Included Attachments?
The Dyson DC07 includes a telescopic wand that makes it easier to reach high places or those out of reach of the
vacuum. It also includes a stair tool, crevice tool and dusting tool so that you can easily take care of all
surfaces.
Length of the Cord?
With a 35 ft cord the Dyson DC07 allows you to access a much larger space without having to unplug and find a
new outlet. This makes your cleaning job go much quicker and smoother.
How Much Should You Be Paying?
The Dyson DC07 can run you as much as $500 depending on where you purchase it from. If you want to get the best
price and take advantage of free shipping, you can visit Amazon where you can find it for as low as $398.
What Comes with It?
The Dyson DC07 comes with the vacuum, a lifetime filter, the standard attachments, an operation manual and the
warranty.
What is the Warranty?
Dyson offers a five year parts and labor warranty on any new purchase of the Dyson DC07.
What Do Other People Say?
Customers are happy with their Dyson DC07 purchase. When reading the many reviews online, I noticed that people
are quite happy with the power of the machine and the suction it has. Some random comments include:
• “Screamin Yellow Machine!”
• “The Best Bagless Vacuum You Can Buy!”
• “Great Product”
• “Pet Owners- This is Your Vacuum!”
• “Forget Vacuuming, Start Dysoning!”
What Do the Complaints Say?
The majority of the complaints, and there were not many, were in reference to the heaviness of the machine and
the lack of convenient things such as a cord rewinder. There were a few complaints about the flimsy nature of the
materials and even repairs that had to be made. Overall the consensus among those giving reviews is that the
machine is well worth the money.
Where Can it be Bought?
It is getting harder to find the Dyson DC07 as it is out of stock at many online retailers. Most major chains carry it but do
not currently have it available. However, it is in stock on Amazon.
Where Can Reviews Be Read?
There are reviews available anywhere that the Dyson DC07 is sold. The most comprehensive selection of reviews by
those who have used the vacuum is available on Amazon.
